I hope to co-operate with the instructors and my fellow students so that I also learn something from them. Soon after completing my course at MFAZ I want to become a very good mechanic so that even if any company does not employ me, I can even work on my own.

Tony Mwelwa

My name is Helligtone Mwelwa. I am the first born in a family of five. We are three boys and two are girls.

I was born in the 1982 at Ndola central hosipital. When I was growing up, I liked my grandfather very much.  The father to my mum. In 1985,he was retrenched from Zambia forestry and forest Industries co-operation Limited (ZAFFICO). In the same year, he was given his terminal benefits. I was sent by him to go and settle at the village in Eastern province in Katete district . In 1987, I was enrolled in grade one at Kafunka Turnoff primary school. When I reached grade four, I was sent back to my father here in Ndola. I joined my friends who were also in grade four at Dola Hill primary school. In 1994, I sat for my final grade seven exams. When the results came out, I was very unfortunate, as I couldn’t make it to grade eight. So I had to repeat the same grade at the same school. When I sat for my second exam, I was very optimistic that I could make it. And for sure when the results came out, I was selected to go to grade eight at Chifubu secondary school.

During my senior level of secondary school, things used to go well at first but they turned sour in grade eleven, when I was sent back home due to non payments of user fees. I stayed in the compound for almost a year without learning.

In grade eleven third terms, my grandfather from the village came to visit us here in Ndola. He just found me that I was not learning. He was puzzled to find me in such a situation. He assisted me very much by giving me his reserved transport money back to the village. What I didn’t forget here is to praise and exalt the creator for strengthening me not to lose hope.

When the schools were opened by then I was now in my final year, I went back to school to pay for my user fees, unfortunately, I found that my name has been cancelled in the book because I have taken too long to pay school fees. So I was given transfer request to look for a place at Ndola continuing education (Adult centre) at this school that’s were I sat for my final exams.

I hope and believe that when I graduate at this institution, I am optimistic that I will go with something reasonable. I even hope that after graduation, I will look for employment but if I fail to look for employment, I will open a workshop at my home. I hope and believe that through this year I will face difficult times but I won’t forget to call upon Jesus to rescue me. Because it’s only Jesus who offered me such a nice opportunity like this.

In conclusion I hope and believe that, I will abide to school regulations and I will be following all what I have been given to follow. Looking forward for a successful year.

O'Brien Nyirenda

I was born in 1978. I started my grade one in 1986.

My parents are divorced and I am living with my mother. No sponsorship is received from my father up to now. I spent two years without going to school until the third year 1997 that’s when I was taken back to school to start grade ten at Lubuto secondary school. I wrote grade twelve examination in 1999. After writing grade twelve I spent four years in the community doing nothing until late 2003 that’s when I applied at mechanics for Africa Zambia (MFAZ) and they accepted me to start a course.

What I am expecting during this course is to co-operate with college staff and fellow students. I am also expecting to have good lecturers who are able to listen to our problems and finish the course and have a certification or Diploma. I also expect to be well equipped with knowledge and get employed after finishing the course.

What I am hoping during my studies at mechanics for Africa Zambia (MFAZ) is to have a college library with books to use when studying. I am also hoping that after finishing the course to have good results that they will find a job for me.

I want to have a good job to help me look after myself after graduation. After graduation I want to open a workshop of my own if not employed. I also want to be a good lecturer in future so that the knowledge is shared with the up coming mechanics.

Ospencio Phiri

My name is Ospencio Phiri born in 1981, in a family of six, of which three are boys and three are girls. I am a Zambian by nationality and Nsenga by tribe.

Both my parents passed away in 2002, when I was just about to be enrolled into college.

I started my primary school in 1987 at Ndola Trust school and completed my school at Kansenshi Secondary school in 1999 and obtained a full G.C.E ‘O’ Level certificate.

I have high expectations and hopes of my studies at MFAZ because ever since my childhood I enjoyed helping my father as he worked on vehicles at home so I feel I ‘ve had a good practice experience on vehicles, hence I need to concentrate much on the theory part as I have had on training in the area.

Looking at the Administration (members of staff) who look to be dedicated to there work, I have no doubt I will get the best knowledge out of them if only I can co-operate and do what they expect me to do.

After successfully graduating I hope to find employment so as to enable me to attain more experience before I could open up my own workshop.

Paul Samatungu

My name is Paul Samatungu; I was born in 1982. I started my grade one at a certain school on the Copperbelt Province. My father retired when I was in grade 2. So my uncle came to pick me up from there, because of funds.

I have two sisters and me. God has blessed me with very good parents. My mother is Kaonde while my father is Luvale and they all come from the same province, which is North-western province of Zambia.

My two sisters did not complete their education because of funds. My sisters are all married with children. So my family is looking at me. As at now my parents are cultivating the land.

I want to go for this course because this course is one that can work on his own, one can be self-employed. My future plans after graduating at this college is that, I would like to be helping at any company, which God will provide me with.

Benson Simuyemba

I am Simuyemba Benson aged 25. I was born in October 1978. I come from the family of three children and I am the second male child and the last on one is a girl. We’re believers, all Jehovah’s Witnesses.

I started school in 1989, at Lamba basic . In 1995, I passed to go to junior secondary school but I couldn’t due to some family problems. Hence, I continued basic at the same school.

In the year 2000, I finally completed senior course with a certificate.

Currently, I am a student at mechanic for Africa (MFAZ). Personally, I have never been exposed to any mechanic fieldwork before. The Principal and Teachers are continue being serious in teaching as we already know them to be committed persons. Relevant books to study from and guidance on how such good studies can be reached. I now know that I am not a failure in life anymore. I want to be successful.

I am so grateful to what MFAZ is providing for me to become a full mechanic student since MFAZ already knows what is right for us all as students in general. After all we do not even know the equipment needed or books.

Futuristically, I am thinking of opening my own garage if MFAZ can help me with tools and equipments finding. On the other hand, I also want to advance my studies after graduation. And if MFAZ can open cannel for me, that will be very great.

Advancing through MFAZ will make me fresh just like the stuff given.

Thank you.
